This lithium starter battery is intended for 400ci engine size or less; 60 amp alternator/generator or less.  We recommend this or the ETX680 for Lycoming 235, 320, and 360 models with low compression.  For high compression and larger engines such as 390, or larger alternators, we recommend the ETX900 or ETX900-VNT.

So, what is the difference between the ETX680 and the ETX680C? Physical size.  The “C” is for more compact dimensions, otherwise they perform the same.

A battery management system (BMS) fully protects this lithium starter battery. The BMS protects the cell’s from over discharge, over charge, short circuit, temperature, in addition to cell balancing, to ensure charge levels are equal. Additionally, ETX-Hundred Series aircraft batteries have redundant electronic circuits and battery fault indication. The fault indicator can be connected into your EFIS or wired to a 12volt LED light on your control panel to alert you to the state of charge and state of health of the battery.
