These gas springs replace the original AVM P611 gas springs supplied by Lancair for the tilt-forward canopy on 320 and 360 models.  The design features metal ends with locking clips which makes removal easier while offering a more secure connection with the balls.  Both left and right springs are included as a set and they are 4 oz lighter than the originals!

The AVM P611 springs are no longer available, other aftermarket springs are either too short (limiting canopy opening) or two long (which can cause the hinge to interfere with the airframe).  600-0001 springs are identical in length to the P611 springs so the original fit of your canopy will be maintained.

The standard springs are each charged to 60lb, but alternative forces may be custom ordered to better work with heavy, or light, built canopies.

Always install gas springs with the rod end down, this better prevents leakage of the gas charge and properly lubricates the seals inside the unit.  (The Lancair manual shows them installed backwards!!)
